It was one of these nights: The Beast was hungry, but honestly: It was always hungry. Francesco had no intentions to go out and feed this night. It would be a night of study. In order to overcome the Beast one needed to understand the Beast first, and in order to understand the Beast one needed to understand how it worked. So many questions were in need of an answer:
How did it come that every Cainite was suffering the Beasts urges but several ways existed which were supposed to lead towards Galconda?
How did it come that every Cainite shared he blood of Caine, but not the same Disciplines and why were some easier to learn for certain Clans than others?
How did it come that some Clans had unique Disciplines while others didn’t?
How exactly did these Disciples work to begin with?
It was safe to assume that the Beast was somehow connected to most of those powers or at least had an intuitive understanding of them as a Cainite in frenzy was still able to use these powers. On the Other side these powers were mostly based on instinct, or at least as far as he knew. Either way: Ever since he received the Dark Communion his senses grew stronger, more refined. He knew that other members of his family learned to do even more with their senses and it was time for him to learn this too. Yes, it would take several nights to accomplish this task but what were several nights in the context of eternity?
Sitting on the roof his the Giovanni Palazzo Francesco closed his eyes, concentrating on the sounds of the city around him. The chatter of his family members, the negotiations between the always present merchants and their potential customers, the giggling of the prostitues looking for patrons, the ringing of the bells... The city was full of noice what made it hard for him to concentrate on one thing alone... Francesco tried to focus on one of the conversations while blocking out all the others, what was not that easy because every now and them the prostitutes found another potential customer and tried to get his attention, or even worse: Actually got that attention! Maybe this night probably wasn’t he best night for this kind of practice... Maybe he should concentrate on his vision instead?...
