Gaius sat on his desk as he did most of the time lately and wrote yet another letter. This one was for his neighbour, since he was keen on not only fulfilling his promise to Tiwa, but also to finally get the last ingredient needed before he had everything he needed for his Ganzir. His words were polite and forthcoming, his choice of paper exquisite, his writing immaculate and his penship an art. Not only would such a letter show how sincere he meant it, but it also carried the message that refusal of his request would lead to the other losing not only wealth, but also his face.
Smirking he looked at it again.
My dearest neighbour Pasquale Caldarelli,
I am sure that it hath join to thy attention that i hast been expanding mine scriptorium and thus acquired much land
This want still persists and i never would that thou would fall on hard times
Hence, i propose an exchange that would suit us both well: i am content to offer thou a tenth moe of what thy grounds had been worth, so that thou may join out of this traffic richer than ere
I offer thou this to discover thou that i never crave aught ill to befall thee, yet that i instead hope to causes us both richer
Should'st thou hast any further questions then may't hesitate to contact me so that we join to a mutually beneficial agreement
With my best regards and prayers to the lord almighty,
Gaius Contarini
Nodding to himself he folded it properly and poured black wax on it, placing his seal on it while it cooled. Reaching to the side he pulled his bowl of gold flakes and a brush closer. Taking the seal off he sprinkled a few flakes on the still warm wax and used the brush to smoothen the gold against the cooling surface. Smiling to himself he left an order for his most loyal retainer to have it delivered during the day.
