Word to the Dark God (Ritual)

The dead man hung from the ceiling by his feet. Tiwa watches him in the darkness. His forked tongue slipping from his mouth to sense the molecules in the air. As the African man approaches the body, it swings slightly, as if the soul was making one last effort to escape. The knife in Tiwa's hand was not genuine but it would have to do. A Setite ceremonial ritual knife was a hard thing to come by. He cuts a T on the corpse and after a lot of effort, splays the body's chest to access its internal organs. Tiwa pulls them out, setting them on a table nearby before he stuffs the body with herbs and the seals it up. He wraps the body in bandages, mummifying the remains for the ritual. The whole affair takes a night but by the end of it, Tiwa is satisfied with the results as he stands before the hanging mummy with pride.



Tiwa takes to his knees before the corpse, placing his hands on his thighs as he watches the it in the darkness. With a deep breath, Tiwa makes the offering to the Dark God, and then his prayer,



"Oh hail Dark One, I make this offering to you." The Setite begins, cutting his palm to feed blood to the mummy, "To appease your hunger and to bask in even more of your favor. I seek your direct command. Speak it so in this vessel I have provided for you and watch your will be done." Tiwa stands up, taking another deep breath before continuing, "I call upon Dumballah, the serpent god. I call upon Bosou Koblamin the most violent of the loa. I call upon the Krabinay to also aid this houngan, so that I may have the strength to fulfil the Dark One's desires."



Kneeling again, Tiwa lights an incense, filling the room with smoke and closes his eyes. He sits perfectly still and waits for the corpse to speak.
